NAAIRS:
Rosemary Dixon-Smith has sent the following information regarding NAAIRS, she writes .. "having battled for two days to access NAAIRS, I e-mailed the webmaster to ask whether it was possible for me to get a message saying 'All Search Manager User IDs in Use' continuously over such a long period of time".
This was the reply:
"Thank you for your query. It is possible. The database has been designed to accommodate 200 people at a time but the number has been increased to 300. If there are many people who use the database at the same time it cannot allow you to search. We will also consider increasing the numbers of users."

ANGLO-BOER WAR:
'A Doctor during the Siege of Ladysmith: Oswald James CURRIE'
Jo King (in Scotland) writes about her ancestor, Oswald Jas CURRIE, who worked as a doctor during the Siege of Ladysmith.

ANGLO-ZULU WAR:

Rosemary has submitted 4 photographs and lists the British and Colonial Regiments which took part in the Anglo-Zulu War 1877-79.

TRANSCRIPTIONS AND GENERAL SHIPPING LISTS:
The Domestic Announcements transcribed by Ellen Stanton from South Africa Magazine 1891-1920 continues. Ellen now states that there will be more than 126 lists in total when complete. A valuable list of names added to Genealogy World.

Rosemary Dixon-Smith states: "I've been told that my Female Emigrants 2-parter article will start in the August issue of Family Tree Magazine.

Rosemary also says: "I discovered splendid material on Eli WIGGILL who arrived in the Cape in 1820 and became a missionary to Bechuanaland among many other adventures.
Initially a Wesleyan Methodist, he later (1858) converted to Mormonism and eventually settled in Utah. It is Eli's story told in his own words."

Interesting websites found by Rosemary:
Guide to the records of crafts and trades at the National Archives
http://www.nas.gov.uk/guides/crafts.asp
FreeCen
http://freecen.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl
FreeCen is a project that volunteers have been involved in over a few years, there are project leaders for each district in Britain; they started with the 1841 census, and the final target is to put all the censuses, on line free to view for every one - a mammoth task and it will take years to accomplish; great credit must be given to all the volunteers for the amount of time they put in to the task.
Once on the site scroll down to 'what's in database', and it will show you all the areas that have been transcribed and are uploaded for searching; on the main page there is a sign 'search the database'.
Another one for Scottish ancestry:
http://www.scotsfind.org/processes_access/processes.pdf
It list divorces/separations for the period 1658 - 1800 and parties involved.

Adrian Rowe, in collaboration with Ellen Stanton, is continuing to transcribe Natal Marriages. Adrian reports that he now has two additional people to assist him with this project. If anyone else would like to help with this very worthwhile project, please contact Adrian.
