HEAR THE RINGDOVE CALL - A novel by Peter Court
The story has at its core The Siege of Ladysmith.
Neighbouring farming families from the peaceful Natal Highflats district are drawn into the second Anglo-Boer War on opposite sides. This is a novel 30 years in the making inspired by the diary of a trooper with The Border Mounted Rifles, the author's great-uncle Lumley H. Gray.

GOOGLE tip:
For those of you who want to search the whole Genealogy World site looking for a particular surname, Richard Ball has suggested the below tip.
"Some web sites, have a search box you can use to look for a word or phrase appearing in that web site. But you can also search web sites that don't have such a box, using Google.
Using Google you can search within one specific website by entering the search terms you're looking for, followed by the word "site" and a colon followed by the domain name.
For example, here's how you'd search the Genealogy World site for any page containing the name 'Cockcroft'
In the search box enter:
cockcroft site:www.genealogyworld.net
You will then be presented with links to all the pages on that web site that contain the word 'Cockcroft'."
[However, we do advise site visitors that searches on the basis of one name aren't always the best way to access Genealogy World's informative pages and you could miss out using this option.]

Although all GENEALOGY WORLD information is easily accessible from the MAIN MENU - from time to time - we notice researchers being unaware of information we have available.
BRICK WALL and MISSING PERSONS:
As I am sure you are all aware, BRICK WALL is for those queries that you have that can go no further - therefore requiring input from other researchers who may have the information required - allowing you to proceed with your Family History.
On the other hand, MISSING PERSONS is designed for those wishing to contact descendants of one's early ancestors - in case they are able to help fill in some of the information in your Family Tree.
MISSING PERSONS is not intended to include the search for living people in general. I have many enquiries that are far too recent in nature and have no connection to early ancestry. These I refer to the 'YOU' magazine facility as an option, plus the Rootsweb mailing lists.
Please remember to check these pages from time to time in case you are able to help other researchers.
Access ALL ITEMS from the Genealogy World Main Menu.
Kind regards,
Delyse Brown
