Hello !*FIRST_NAME*!,
'GENEALOGY WORLD' - NEW ITEMS :
Index on right hand side of page.
The below information was recently sent to 'Genealogy World' regarding the 1820 Settler parties:
The Gush and Sephton parties landed at PE from the 'Aurora' and 'Brilliant' and were reunited - but they did not leave PE simultaneously, in fact only some of the members of this party were settled at Rietfontein and later relocated to Salem. Others of the party went directly to Salem.

Adrian Rowe informs us of a gadget which newsletter readers might like to acquire. It is an UPS (Uninterruptable power supply). It is a Mecer 600va model which gives about 20 minutes of backup time after a power cut and allows one to shut down properly. It is also a surge protector and has facility for the telephone line, computer, monitor and printer (3 ports).

Although all GENEALOGY WORLD information is easily accessible from the MAIN MENU - from time to time - we notice researchers being unaware of information we have available.
1820 SETTLER HANDBOOK
Anyone with 1820 Settler roots will be familiar with MD Nash's 1820 Settler Handbook. The author very kindly agreed to allow her book to appear on this website when 'Genealogy World' first appeared online.
Many enquirers who visit the Family History Centre in Durban do not appear to be aware of this!
Subjects dealt with in the Handbook are:
INDEX OF SETTLER NAMES
THE SETTLER SHIPS DETAILS
ILLUSTRATIONS
MAP of the Albany Settlement
THE CHAPMAN transport ship
HM Store Ship WEYMOUTH
Heads of Parties LETTER OF INTRODUCTION
General RULES
THE SETTLEMENT SCHEME
THE SETTLER SHIPS
THE SETTLER PARTIES
MD Nash requested the addition of the following page to update her book:
CORRECTIONS AND ADDITIONS to 'THE SETTLER HANDBOOK'.
For additional easy reference Robin Griffiths lists the Settlers and the Ships on his page.
Access ALL ITEMS from the Genealogy World Main Menu.
Kind regards,
Delyse Brown
