Researcher - Ireland.
GOOGLE:
Here is an option that could be taken by many people who contact Genealogy World about 'where and how they can put their family history info online', there is a free Google site at:
http://sites.google.com/
This is totally free, you don't have to learn html language, everything is done for you.
It is an excellent way of 'holding' information that eventually you'll be able to download again when you want to write a book and, of course, it's also good back-up should anything happen to your material or computer etc.
These Google sites can be used for anything from small companies to research projects (in any discipline), not just for family history.
This free Google site is an ideal option for those not wanting to have their own website.

SEARCH TIP:
Searching an Internet site
from Robin Griffiths
Searching an Internet site for a particular name of interest can be very tedious. Take Robin’s Lists for example. To search for, say, Brown would require opening all my Lists, one at a time, and checking for the name.
If you type into the address bar at the top of your Internet browser this line:
brown site:genealogyworld.net (do not include http://www.)
you get 454 hits where Genealogy World mentions Brown. You can quickly see if the mention is of interest by clicking on that link.
This might be of interest as a tip.
Although all GENEALOGY WORLD information is easily accessible from the MAIN MENU - from time to time - we notice researchers being unaware of information we have available. Therefore please study the MAIN MENU carefully.
Kind regards,
Delyse Brown
