FAMILY TREE MAGAZINE: - October 2005 issue - Rosemary Dixon-Smith has written an article on NAAIRS. It has pride of place at the front of the magazine. You will find mention of her Gadsden family and my Tollner family when you look at the illustrations for this article.
ANCESTRY.COM:
During September the following is on offer (NO CHARGE):
Ancestry.com 1901 U.K. Census Index
http://www.searchforancestors.com/free1901census.html
http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/census/uk/default.aspx
USEFUL UK URL:
Those of you interested in finding ancestors in Somerset in England, might like to use the following URL:
Search the Archives at http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/ENG/ENG-SOMERSET.html
USEFUL SA ADDRESSES:
Anyone requiring Marriage Certificates (from Church Records) will find three new contact addresses when clicking on 'S African Interest' and scrolling to the bottom of the following item: 'Ancestral Visas - Useful South African addresses and Websites'.
EAST GRIQUALAND:
I was a bit overwhelmed and taken aback at the response to the new section I added on East Griqualand. I had nearly left this section out! And yet this area seems to have been of interest (even to non-genealogists). It just shows that you never can tell WHAT people are researching, or even WHO might be researching!
FAMILY CHRONICLES:
Because the East Griqualand section has been of interest and is interconnected with 'Family Chronicles' on the Website, I have expanded this. Families such as Fryer, Rodway, Gifford, Tollner, Shuttleworth, Brown (Men of the Land) - have now been added. I will expand the family lists and add other details on various families on an ongoing basis. I also still have 'my' 1820 Settlers to report upon!
If anyone would like to see the Death Notice Rosemary used to illustrate her Family Tree Magazine article, you will find this in The Tollner Family. To access click on 'Family Chronicles' (Main Menu, Free E-books).
LINKS:
Some of you alerted me (via Rosemary!) to the fact that since our move to a new Web Host, mail you were sending me was not always reaching me. This has now been attended to and Website mail links are functioning again. However, when I sent out the Newsletter a fortnight ago - (for some reason) - the Newsletters bounced to those using 'Hotmail' addresses! This has never happened with Hotmail before. If you were affected, please read the last Newsletter in our Archive, as I have repeatedly tried to send the Newsletters via Hotmail without success.
Unfortunately not all of you will be able to attend the following event, but you might like to know what is planned for the day.
