There were a variety of standard forms and also many sections of the forms were not completed. As a result the details included vary.

On questioning said was not correct First went on Commando towards end of Nov 1899 and was for 2 months in Natal where never fired a shot, but drove a donkey wagon. Then deserted & travelled in Transvaal trying to evade the Boers, until the entry of the British.
