The Veld system of school-training in telegraphy has now been five years in existence in the Transvaal; still it is reported that not one telegraphist has been turned out fit for work in the larger offices of the country, and only five are in service in the smaller offices. Good telegraphists are badly wanted in the Transvaal, and it is proposed to erect a school of instruction.
