BALMORAL CASTLE, arrived at Cape Town from England, via Madeira 3 July 1880
3 July 1880 BALMORAL CASTLE, steamer of the Currie Line, Capt. J. Winchester, arrived at Cape Town from England, via Madeira, at about 2 p.m. with mails, cargo and 230 passengers, including about 132 immigrants destined for Natal.*

The Natal Mercantile Advertiser of 10 July, 1880 offered the following list of passengers on the Melrose (transshipped from the Balmoral Castle), containing more detail than the list of Balmoral Castle passengers provided by the Cape Argus.
Note: it's worth viewing all these lists and comparing the information given; there are some discrepancies between the various versions; the Natal Mercantile Advertiser gives forenames and occupations of the immigrants destined for Natal:
