LIST OF MISSING RELATIVES in NATAL WITNESS - 6 May 1907

MISSING RELATIVES: The following list of missing people appears in this week's mail papers:-

EDWORTHY, Robert Henry alias R H ALDRICH, Bechuanaland Police Force (1896) is supposed to have joined some irregular force of cavalry at the outbreak of South African war, 1899-1902.

FERNE, Alfred and Edward, left SA at the time of the Jameson Raid and went to Australia. Sister Lizzie asks.

FLEMING, James, who was in Johannesburg in 1906, is asked for by mother and sister Nellie.

GLENCROSS, James Scobell, left England in 1885 for Lyttelton, New Zealand. Supposed to have served in an Australian corps during the war, and to have been taken prisoner by the Republican forces.

HARRIS, Arthur George, left Eltham, England in May 1901. When last heard of in August 1904 was employed as carpenter on S.S. 'Teck' a cattle boat plying between Tulear, Madagascar and Durban.

HODGSON, W J, prospector, of Sheffield, left Umtali about March 1906 stating his intention to proceed to the Ayrshire Mine.

JARMAN, Thompson, was last known to be in the 3rd NSW Mounted Rifles in SA. Sister Ada asks.

MCCULLOUGH, Thomas Augustine, served with the 74th Yeomanry during the war, afterwards with SA Constabulary until 1902. Last heard of in June 1906 as a commercial traveller in Johannesburg for a wine and spirit merchant.

PAINTER, George, left Ilford (Essex) in 1905 to go to Dunedin New Zealand on board the S.S. 'Kumara'. Last letter from Capetown. Mother and sister enquire.

PARK or PARKER, A E and Walter, are sought by brothers and sisters. The former was at Capetown three years ago and the latter at Mossburg Theatre, Portland Oregon USA in 1902.

SANDSTROM, Johannes, carpenter, of Helsingfors, Finland, was last heard of at Geldenhuis Deep Mine, Cleveland, at the beginning of last year.

SMITH, James Rufus, went to South Africa about 1871, under a Government contractor from Greenwich. Sister asks.

WOOD, Elizabeth, Marguerite and Isabella are enquired for by their brother Leslie, in Illinois. They were all born in New South Wales and lived with their uncle, John Wood, in Edinburgh, four years ago, but are now supposed to be in South Africa with their father.
