Repositories visited regularly include Pietermaritzburg Archives, Durban Archives, Killie Campbell Library, Don Africana Library, Old Court House Durban.

Experienced, personal and friendly service provided. No enquiry is too large or too small. General or specific queries welcome. Reliable and prompt research. Digital photography of archival documents such as Death Notices. Also, by arrangement, tombstones, memorial inscriptions, Natal churches, houses, business premises. All digital photographs speedily sent as jpeg attachments to e-mail. Photos included in basic hourly rate. Where photography or photocopying not allowed, accurate transcripts taken.

Topics previously researched: all aspects of Natal colonial history, settler families and their descendants, surnames, shipping & passenger arrivals, houses, streets, military history including Anglo-Zulu and Anglo-Boer Wars, paintings and photographs of Natal and its people. Dating of costume in family photographs undertaken. Book searches by arrangement.

RESEARCH IN OTHER CENTRES:

A network of researchers provides coverage of ALL other SA areas; archival documents retrieved in the Cape, Transvaal and Free State. Also UK colleague available by arrangement for general research at PRO, Guildhall and other British repositories; specialist in shipping & emigration records.
