BEGINNER's GUIDE

A large number of "How To" books have been written about researching ancestry. Most are geared for family historians in the UK and USA and offer expert advice.

However, such publications fail to address the special needs of researchers seeking ancestors in the South African context. Local publications generally pre-date the impact of the Internet on this topic.

The introductory guide presented in the following pages is aimed at those who are beginning their research into South African ancestry.
