The beloved wife of Richard Mason, Mrs Mason came to Natal with her parents Mr and Mrs Goodburn
early in the year 1850.  And as a wife and mother had to pass through many of the trials and incidents
to the early settlers life. Her kind disposition endeared he to all who knew her, but especially was she
beloved by her numerous family, in the midst of which she was a pattern of untiring industry and kindness,
she was looking forward to the time when the Asher family grew up.  She would be permitted with more
leisure to enjoy the comforts of a well earned and happy home when she was removed by an inscrutable
providence. Suddenly removed mourn over their irreparable loss, but while they sorrow not as those without
hope, feeling assured their loss is her gain.
